DANCE IN LA

Where do professional dancers train in LA?

Los Angeles is not just the entertainment capital of the world—it’s also the epicenter of dance. Whether you’re just starting out or already a pro, the city offers endless opportunities to grow and level up your skills. With world-class studios, THE best teachers and choreographers, and a dance scene that attracts talent from all over the globe, LA’s the perfect place to follow your dreams and be inspired by the best in the business. From hip-hop to heels, jazz funk and ballet, if it’s a dance style, you’ll find it here.

Where do you go though if you’re a commercial dancer who’s trying to dance in music videos, tours, commercials etc.? I made it easy for you:

But there are lots of other classes!

Post pandemic many teachers started to just rent space at rental studios so they avoid paying the abovementioned studios a big % of their check. I worked as a work study at Millennium Dance Complex for 2 years and was shocked when I started understanding how much the studios make per class vs. the teachers.

My point is: it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the Instagram’s of whoever you want to train with, because often you won’t find them on the studio’s regular schedule. The choreographer/teacher will just post a link, time and location on their feed or on their Instagram stories, that you’ll have to sign up through.

But generally, it’s a great idea to start at the 5 main studios! There are SO many great classes and a very big international community of dancers that is just waiting for you to join!

You got this!
